Flying (High) Over Sunset
Robert Sella may not be a household name, but he’s easily recognizable from his many Broadway appearances as well as numerous film and television productions.
Sella is one of the stars (along with Tony Yazbeck, Harry Hadden-Paton and Carmen Cusack) of James Lapine’s Flying Over Sunset at Lincoln Center. This groundbreaking show explores the use of LSD and is inspired by Cary Grant, Aldous Huxley, Clair Booth Luce and Gerald Heard, all of whom experimented with the drug. I enjoyed using LSD during my college years on many occasions, and there’s a scene in a Rexall Drug Store that’s worth the price of admission for anyone who has taken acid.
Please note that tickets are available for as low as $59 dollars, a rare bargain for fabulous singing and dancing, remarkable sets and beautiful costumes. The show closes on January 16th, so get your tickets soon!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Atticus Ware makes his LCT debut as a young Cary Grant (aka Archie Leach) and does a remarkable job. We’re both repped by Take3 Talent.
Robert Sella joined me on the radio to discuss the show on Sunday January 9th. Here’s the PODCAST.
