It was a memorable summer day in 1965 when I first heard his voice. At the time, Yankee Stadium seemed to be the biggest place in the world and his unique intonations filled it perfectly. Hearing Bob Sheppard’s voice in my head saying the name: “Mick-ey Man-tle,” will always bring a smile to my face.
